Brougham Hall, just a mile south of Penrith, Cumbria, was built in the 14th century and has a fascinating history. Rescued from dereliction in 1985, it is one of the largest country house restoration projects in England and is home to an array of arts and craft workshops and businesses.
You'll find the Hall open from dawn til dusk BUT the workshops open from around 10am, closing around 5pm. Dogs and cyclists are most welcome.
